South Carolina Vocations and Individual Advancement (SCVIA) A 501(c)3 organization managed by Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina) SCVIA helps individuals with significant disabilities achieve independence and self-sufficiency through employment. SCVIA acquires government-based contracts in partnership with SourceAmerica through the AbilityOne Program. The program provides employment opportunities for people who have significant disabilities in the manufacture and delivery of products and services to the federal government. Position intended for individuals with a documented disability as they will have case management services as part of transitional assistance for regular full-time employment.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: To deliver high quality custodial service and performance to our SCVIA customers. To effectively extend timely and courteous training to associates through guidance structure and training. To encourage and promote a mutual associate/customer relationship which enhances the profitability of SCVIA. To establish positive relationships with clients and associates to successfully implement SCVIA’s mission services. To represent SCVIA in a professional manner to reflect values and standards of its mission and goals. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. To actively monitor and insist on quality control processes outlined by the SCVIA Project Manager & GIUMSC’s and Contracts Manager. 2. To assist with the direction of SCVIA associates on a daily basis. 3. To ensure the necessary equipment and supplies required to perform the daily tasks in support of the SCVIA contract are available. 4. To work along side associates teaching them work flow, safe work habits, and other applicable functions related to the contracts. 5. To supervise the maintenance of hard surface floors, all carpet surfaces cleaning, and sanitizing bathrooms, stripping and waxing floors and cleaning/spot cleaning/vacuuming carpets. 6. To learn methods of work and act as a role model for associates. 7. To participate with SCVIA project manager in performing associate orientation, evaluation and support. 8. To follow all military regulations while operating a motor vehicle on a military installation. 9. To be able to provide daily, weekly, monthly reports in support of assigned position. 10. To perform all other duties that may be assigned.
Education: Prefer High School diploma or equivalent. Work Experience: Minimum of one-year supervisory experience with references. Must have valid SC Driver’s license with limited points for violations. Work Requirements: Should be able to estimate square footage in conjunction with equipment/materials needed to complete the job. Knowledge of removing various types of stains and maintaining all floor care equipment for hard and carpeted surfaces. Physical Requirements: Daily requirements may include climb a 10 foot ladder, balancing, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, standing for at least 6 hours per day, stooping and bending repeatedly, kneeling, handling, lifting up to 25 pounds, carrying, pushing, and pulling. May be exposed to dust and odors.
Safety & Security: Must comply with all safety personal protective equipment such as safety goggles, hearing protection, safety gloves, etc. as necessary to perform each task while operating powered equipment or any task that would expose the individual to undue risks. Work Hours: As assigned to meet the professional requirements of the job. May be tasked to work weekends and nights as required. Work Attire: Appropriate work attire to be worn while at job sites. Each associate should present a safe, neat, and professional appearance that will be reflective of SCVIA’s positive image in the community. This may include wearing a provided uniform shirt in performance of daily required work performance.
