What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Specialist position at Goodwill Southern California?
The Intake Specialist Assists in determining program eligibility of all participants enrolling with Goodwill Southern California American Job Center of California (AJCC).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinates presentations and enrollment of participants with mandatory partners and cross functional teams
Provides initial assessment of participants to determine abilities, interests, needs, and barriers.
Certifies client documentation as proscribed by WIOA regulations, organize client files, maintain case notes in CalJobs and JobsLA.
Enters and enrolls participants and CalJobs / JobsLA data entries in a timely manner with 100% accuracy.
Identifies and enrolls City and County of Los Angeles mandated populations with priority of services as defined by the programs.
Reviews enrollment packets for completeness and accuracy. Makes necessary corrections as needed.
Ensures all required documentation is received from referral sources; timely communication with referring agency.
Establishes initial electronic and physical files for those enrolled and facilitates a warm-handoff to Career Services Speiailst and Employment Service Specialist.
This position may require some travel up to 25% of the time; a valid CA driver's license and state-required auto insurance are necessary. Driving records must be acceptable by the company’s insurance carrier.
Education & Experience
5 years of workforce development or education program experience, some experience in non-profit/post-secondary institution programs is preferred.
Knowledge of CalJobs/ JobsLA and quality control process
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects, with multiple community resource simultaneously, and meeting deadlines
Familiarity with the public workforce and/or education system.
Experience working and collaborating with community colleges, training providers, businesses, community agencies, politicians and policy leaders.
Associate’s degree and two years related experience in accurate data and document management and in WIOA eligibility and intake work; or minimum four years of related experience.
Bi-lingual fluency (e.g., English/ASL, English/Spanish, etc.) and ability understand another culture as required by the program or local community highly desired.
Ability to handle confidential information.
Punctual and dependable attendance.
