The Retail Associate delivers excellent customer experiences by engaging with customers, achieving goals, maintaining a clean store environment, and communicating Goodwill's mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding service, engage with each customer, and maintain a friendly attitude
- Perform accurate Point of Sale and cash handling procedures
- Communicate Goodwill's values (RISE: Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence) to employees, customers, and donors
- Receive and record donations accurately using technology
- Sort, clean, process, and price donated goods according to company standards
- Maintain the sales floor and merchandise
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following safety policies and procedures
- Load and unload trucks and perform necessary cleaning and janitorial work
Requirements
- Ability to read, speak, and write Basic English
- Ability to operate a cash register, personal computer, and other necessary technology
- Ability to share Goodwill's purpose with customers or donors and ask for donations
- Ability to work with a diverse team
- Some retail and sales experience is helpful
- Punctual and dependable attendance
- Free from alcohol and drug abuse
- Understands Goodwill's basic philosophy and participates in carrying out its mission
- Adheres to Goodwill's values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence
