The Retail Associate delivers exceptional customer experiences by engaging with customers, achieving set goals, maintaining a clean store environment, and communicating Goodwill's mission.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide excellent service by presenting a friendly attitude and engaging with each customer.
- Process transactions accurately and securely using Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Communicate Goodwill's Mission and values (RISE: Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence) to employees, customers, and donors.
- Receive and record donations using technology.
- Sort, clean, price, and merchandise donated goods according to company standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety procedures and wearing personal protective equipment.
- Load and unload trucks and perform cleaning tasks as needed.
- Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
Education & Experience
- Demonstrate basic English language skills, including reading, speaking, and writing.
- Operate cash registers, computers, and other technology necessary for job duties.
- Share Goodwill's purpose with customers and donors, asking for monetary donations.
- Work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Prior retail and sales experience is beneficial.
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliable attendance.
- Avoid substance abuse and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
- Understand Goodwill's philosophy and actively participate in carrying out its mission.
- Cultivate Goodwill's values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence.
