Summary Description:
- Complete all required functions to post 30 items or more per day which includes selecting the items suitable for the auction site.
- Taking pictures of these items; downloading these pictures into the computer; writing accurate descriptions of the items and posting them for auction.
- Oversee the incoming and outgoing shipment for appropriate distribution to the department/store concerned.
- Reports to E-Commerce Leads and E-Commerce Manager.
Exemplary Duties / Responsibilities:
Listing:
- Identify saleable items for Shop Goodwill.
- Research items, when necessary, could entail internet searches or reading available information from books or magazines.
- Photographs items, edits, crops, and downloads images to approved e-commerce platforms, as needed.
- Post the item for auction by providing an accurate description/information together with the corresponding minimum bid.
- Authenticate merchandise as needed.
- Keep an organized and accurate inventory of items posted.
- Assists with pulling items for re-listing.
- Assists in sorting, identifying and preparing items for photographing.
- Assists with filling items and maintaining the storage shelves.
Customer Service:

Assists with answering customer inquiries either by e-mail or phone, including but not limited to:
- Shipping
- General merchandise
- Refunds
- Damages
- All other inquiries related to Shop Goodwill goods and services.
- Help facilitate shipment of items sold.
Shipping / Receiving:
- Prepares production invoices, records and store shipments.
- Attach identifying information to goods for shipment.
- Responsible for the safe working environment in shipping dock area and reporting all safety hazards to supervisor.
- Assists with loading trucks for deliveries.
- Transfers items to shipping from another area/department.
- Operates department equipment, i.e. Packsize box maker and shredder.
- Coordinates shipping activities with E-Commerce Lead and Manager.
- Assures proper rotation of stored donations.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Works overtime if required.
- Safeguards company property, including donated goods. Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession, abuse or negligence of company property.
- Always acts safely, following all safety rules and regulations.
- Follows all company policies and procedures.
- Promotes and demonstrates cooperation and teamwork. Assists and shares knowledge and information with other employees as needed.
- Uses good interpersonal skills such as courtesy, sensitivity, politeness, and thoughtfulness.
- Working with, training, and/acting as a good example for program participants receiving training at Goodwill.
- Assisting with onsite customer pick-ups.
- Ensures work area is a clean, orderly, and safe manner, which may include daily floor mopping and related tasks assigned.
- Responsible for assessing and evaluating merchandise on the receiving dock for product received and shipment to stores.
- Tracks target salvage, communicates any irregularities.
- Attends General Assembly, Department and Safety meetings.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
Employment Standards:
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be able to operate a digital camera.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Basic PC & related equipment proficiency.
- Knowledge and comfortability of Windows, DOS, Excel, Word, Internet and Outlook.
- Experience with photo editing software.
- Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Applications preferred
- Must be able to type 45 WPM.
Skills
- Ability to read and write fluently, with emphasis on correct grammar and spelling.
- Ability to provide good customer service with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Operational knowledge of basic office machines with basic computer skills
- Ability to type at least 45 words per minute.
