MAINTENANCE HELPER
DIVISION 500
Summary Description :
Under directions of the Facility Manager and / or Maintenance Lead, provides assistance to maintenance personnel.
Attends to written work orders and performs basic building and equipment repairs.
Drive company vehicle to and from job sites and on errands.
Locates and purchases parts or materials for repairs.
Exemplary Duties / Responsibilities :
Duties include minor plumbing, electrical, lighting, carpentry, wall patching, painting, concrete and flooring repairs.
Relocate office equipment and furnishings. Assist in handling construction work to include framing, gypsum wall boarding; door window, and hardware installation.
Operates both manual and electric powered hand tools. Minor preventative maintenance repairs on air conditioning systems.
Maintain emergency systems including fire extinguishers and egress lighting.
Keeps the workshop and trucks in clean and orderly condition.
Retrieves repair parts, shop tools and other items as specified.
Other related duties as assigned.
Employment Standards :
Education / Experience :
High School Diploma preferred or equivalent.
Minimum one to two years’ working experience in the related field.
Able to stand and walk up to 7 hours per day.
Able to climb, kneel, crawl, or squat.
Able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
Must have a valid CA Driver’s License; clean DMV printout and be insurable to drive company vehicle.
Able to follow simple and complex instructions.
Knowledge :
Knowledge of construction, carpentry, electrical systems and plumbing helpful.
Able to safely operate hand and power tool.
Knowledge in blueprints / schematics reading.
Skill :
Able to follow verbal and written instructions to perform assigned tasks in a safe and efficiently.
