Warehouse Lead | 2nd Shift
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Warehouse Lead to join our client's team in the Libertyville area.
This role is essential to the daily operations of our shipping warehouse, where you will foster a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.
About the Role
- As a Warehouse Lead, you will lead a team of warehouse associates, delegate tasks, and ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment, all while upholding our client's standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of warehouse associates to meet productivity and accuracy goals.
- Collaborate with the Supervisor to identify staffing needs and allocate labor effectively based on workflow (Pick-Pack-Ship).
- Oversee the picking, packing, and shipping of warehouse orders, ensuring all tasks meet KPIs.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
- Work cross-functionally with departments like Account Coordinators and Production staff to ensure seamless operations.
- Maintain accurate records of WIP (Work in Progress) inventory and shipping documentation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficiency-enhancing solutions.
- Train new warehouse associates and provide ongoing coaching and development.
- Troubleshoot order fulfillment issues and resolve inquiries in a timely manner.
- Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and well-maintained.
- Assist with planning and leading departmental and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and training on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Dozuki documentation.
- Support 5S implementation and audits.
- Assist with troubleshooting and root cause identification for shipping errors and corrective/preventative action initiatives.
- Ability to adjust and follow instructions in a fast-paced environment.
- Contributes to the completing of projects on time, using project management software to manage the projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
Required Skills
- ~2-3 years of experience in warehouse operations with supervisory or lead responsibilities.
- ~ Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- ~ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- ~ Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English and perform basic math.
- ~ Proficiency in warehouse management practices; experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) is a plus.
- ~ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- ~ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and MS Teams is required.
- ~ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- ~ Experience operating an electric pallet jack (required) and stand-up reach truck (preferred).
Pay Range and Compensation Package
- $26.00/hr along with Major Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Holidays, Pet Insurance, and more after successful completion of the contract period.
