Accountant – Hybrid (Columbia, MD)
We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our finance team in a hybrid role, offering the opportunity to work three days in our Columbia, MD office and two days remotely. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounts receivable, complex billing, and financial operations who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Receivable & Billing: Manage complex invoicing, ensure timely collections, monitor aging reports, and resolve billing inquiries.
- Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, review and approve expense reports (via Concur), and ensure timely payments.
- Financial Reporting & Documentation: Prepare reports and presentations using Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables), Word, and PowerPoint.
- Payroll Support: Assist in payroll processing and coordinate tax requirements with payroll vendors.
- Account Reconciliation & Compliance: Maintain accuracy in financial records, reconcile accounts, and support audits.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on accounts receivable and complex billing
- Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and experience with QuickBooks Online or similar financial software
- Cost Accounting or Project Accounting experience (minimum 1 year)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage sensitive financial data with confidentiality and professionalism
- Salary Range: $70K - $85K (DOE)
