Director Of Engineering Responsibilities
- Supports Engineering Services, Energy Management, and the Integrated Automation Program.
- Develops, supports and/or plans projects and programs for decarbonization efforts, new facilities, energy conservation opportunities, building systems, and infrastructure upgrades while assisting operations in troubleshooting and repair activities.
- Sets the strategy for how Building and Plant automation control systems are designed, used, and integrated into the Energy Management System to provide the necessary functions and data to operate the campus and to monitor greenhouse gases and energy use.
- PE License, NE PE within one year of hire
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred
- 10 years of experience in planning and design of building and district utility engineered systems, construction, commissioning, energy management, and facility maintenance/operations.
- Experience in a college or university environment is strongly preferred
- Solid background in business management including forecasting, estimating and budgetary controls.
- Demonstrated organizational and managerial experiences including the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent supervisory and interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to relate well to diverse group of constituents and to build strong relationships within and among those groups.
- Flexible and diplomatic management style that empowers staff, sets high expectations, and holds department colleagues accountable.
