What are the responsibilities and job description for the Exec Chef l Upscale Restaurant position at Goodwin Recruiting?
Seeking a polished CDC or Executive Chef for a top 50 restaurant (rated by USA Today 2024) and operating for years with the owner being a very talented chef. This position will fully run the kitchen under the owner, who is still hands-on but not really working ops anymore. They could pay more for a candidate with both pastry and savory experience. Pastry mostly covers breads and desserts.

Executive Chef Responsibilities:
- Culinary operations, including culinary standards and quality
- Menu development
- Source and develop relations with local farmers and purveyors
- Being the face of the restaurant
- Ability to plan and execute wine dinners and cooking classes after a successful opening
- Team management and development
- Finance
- Health & Safety
- Supporting the overall business operations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years as an Executive Chef in an upscale casual environment
- Skill sets: Scratch kitchen expertise with a flair for menu design. Pastry experience (breads & desserts) is a major plus and can increase salary potential
- Bonus: Food truck experience is highly valued
- Professionalism: Steady career progression, with no more than three roles in the past five years
- Personality: A can-do attitude, passion for excellence, and a hands-on leadership approach
