We are seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Assistant to support the implementation and maintenance of our quality and food safety programs. This role ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements while assisting in quality control processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Food Quality & Safety.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and communicate changes effectively.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with federal regulations, customer requirements, and BRC standards.
- Assist in investigating customer complaints and internal issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain records related to quality control, sanitation, environmental testing, and allergen management.
- Support prerequisite programs, including supplier approval, pest control, and sanitation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Education: Associate degree or relevant coursework preferred.
- Certifications: HACCP, ISO 22000, or ISO 9001 certification is required.
- Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance, preferably in a food manufacturing or airline catering environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Additional Requirements:
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Airport Badge (must pass a 10-year federal background check).
