Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. This role involves overseeing geotechnical investigations, mentoring junior engineers, managing projects from conception to completion, and driving business development efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality geotechnical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentorship & Staff Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to staff and field engineers, assist in report preparation and review, and oversee fieldwork procedures.
- Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to ensure project deliverables meet expectations.
- Project Management: Manage projects from initial proposal development to final delivery, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Technical Oversight: Supervise field and laboratory activities related to geotechnical investigations for various structures.
- Business Development: Maintain and expand existing client relationships while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Workload Management: Assist in managing project workload and asset allocation.
- Market Growth & Strategy: Identify potential project and market expansion opportunities.
- Project Administration: Oversee budgets, change orders, contract modifications, invoicing, and accounts receivable.
- Proposal & Marketing Support: Develop cost proposals and contribute to marketing materials.
- Industry Engagement: Participate in professional societies and industry groups.
- Field Assignments: Occasional out-of-town work assignments as needed.
- Other Duties: Additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical emphasis.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification or ability to obtain within one year.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical principles as they relate to transportation, structural, and water resource projects.
- Proven experience in managing projects, leading teams, and working directly with clients.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Work on a diverse range of geotechnical engineering projects.
