Lead Manufacturing Accountant Compensation And Benefits

Lead Manufacturing Accountant Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• At least five years of professional experience in a manufacturing setting
• Leadership experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
• Strong business acumen to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Excellent Excel skills and technical abilities
  
  

Lead Manufacturing Accountant Responsibilities

General Ledger Management:

• Prepare journal entries, and account reconciliations, and maintain general ledger balances.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions related to manufacturing operations.
  
  

Cost Accounting

• Oversee cost accounting processes, including standard cost setting, variance analysis, and inventory costing.
• Track and analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead.
• Provide detailed reporting on cost variances and recommend cost-control measures.
  
  

Inventory Management

• Manage the monthly inventory reconciliation process, ensuring accurate valuation of inventory.
• Collaborate with the supply chain and operations teams to ensure proper inventory tracking and minimize discrepancies.
  
  

Month-End Close

• Lead the month-end close process for the manufacturing division, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow analysis.
  
  

Financial Reporting

• Provide regular and ad hoc financial reports and analysis to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators, trends, and areas for improvement.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  
  

Compliance And Auditing

• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and financial standards.
• Support external audits and internal audits related to manufacturing processes and cost accounting.
  
  

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities for improving accounting processes and internal controls within the manufacturing environment.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to implement cost-saving initiatives and enhance financial performance.
  
  

Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with operations, production, and supply chain teams to gather relevant financial information.
• Provide training and guidance to junior accounting staff and support the team’s development.
