Legal Assistant Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys and legal teams.
- Manage and coordinate attorneys’ schedules, including meetings, travel, and court deadlines.
- Prepare, edit, and format legal documents, correspondence, and reports with precision.
- Handle e-filing in state and federal courts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist with trial preparation, including document organization and deposition scheduling.
- Maintain confidential case files and legal records.
- Process expense reports and manage billing-related administrative tasks.
- Screen and route phone calls, ensuring effective communication within the team.
- Support other legal secretaries as needed to meet firm and client deadlines.
- Adhere to firm policies, including confidentiality, professionalism, and security guidelines.
- Minimum of five years of experience as a litigation legal secretary.
- Proficiency in MS Word with advanced formatting skills.
- Typing speed of at least 55 words per minute.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently.
- Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and e-filing systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional legal training or certification is a plus.
- Availability to work core business hours, with flexibility for overtime as needed.
