Seeking: Senior Mechanical Estimator – Plumbing & HVAC
Are you a seasoned Mechanical Estimator with expertise in commercial Plumbing and HVAC projects? A well-established mechanical contractor in Torrington, CT, is looking for a detail-driven professional to oversee their estimating operations. This role involves preparing competitive bids, analyzing project costs, and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

- Lead and manage the estimating team, ensuring accurate and competitive bids
- Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and documents to develop detailed cost estimates
- Prepare budgets, material takeoffs, and equipment costs for commercial HVAC and plumbing projects
- Maintain strong communication with general contractors, vendors, and project owners
- Source and coordinate quotes from suppliers, participating in buyout processes
- Attend bid meetings and site visits to assess project scope accurately
- Ensure compliance with CHRO requirements and meet strict bid deadlines
- 5 years of estimating experience in commercial/industrial Plumbing and HVAC projects
- Proven track record handling projects up to $5M in value
- Proficiency in Trimble/Quickpen or FastPipe (preferred)
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and the bidding process
- Knowledge of mechanical/plumbing equipment and CHRO set-aside plans
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
