Job Responsibilities
- Review and/or prepare business, fiduciary, and personal income tax returns and training staff in tax matters.
- Engage with clients and other staff to ensure proactive tax planning.
- Prepare tax projections and consulting on tax-related matters, including complex (fun!) tax issues.
- Oversee income tax correspondence, including developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
- Building new and existing client relationships and demonstrating knowledge of client business.
- Managing multiple clients, budgets and production goals.
- Interpret the U.S. tax code.
- Research the implications of tax laws and advise clients on tax related issues.
- Collaborate with staff/managers on projects and assess performance through formal periodic reviews and informal feedback.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA Certification.
- 6 years prior tax experience in public accounting.
- Experience preparing entities and individual tax returns.
- Strong accounting and analytical skills.
- Self-starter and team player with ability to recognize when additional hour commitments are needed and willingness to take on extra work to meet firm wide deadlines.
