Position Description Summary/Purpose:
Goodwin University is seeking a full-time candidate for the position of Clinical Coordinator for the LPN Nursing Program. This individual will be responsible for planning and organizing the clinical placements, including securing clinical sites and facilities, coordinating part-time clinical faculty assignments and facility-based orientation. In addition, the Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for securing clinical sites and faculty for each clinical group for the LPN Program.
*We are looking for candidates to work from our Bridgeport, East Hartford OR Waterbury campus.*
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Three Components: Placement Coordinator, Student Health and Requirement Record Management, and clinical/lab instructor as needed.
Placement Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the Program Directors at the institution and the clinical sites to determine and secure adequate number of clinical placements needed to accommodate the student’s level, and type of experience every semester.
- Maintain clinical affiliation agreements between Goodwin University and clinical agencies or institutions.
- Supporting clinical faculty in maintaining relationships with preceptors and the clinical sites, including administrative paperwork.
Student and Faculty Health Requirement:
- Ensure that students health records and other required documents are current on the secure database system
- Ensure all demographic clinical placement data is current and up to date in the secure clinical software
- Submit health records and other required documents of nursing students and faculty to nurse educator at clinical site in a timely manner.
- Determines clinical placement and schedules for nursing students each semester in coordination with program director
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Excellent organizational and computer-based skills with Microsoft Suite
- Ability to develop and maintain appropriate working relationships with clinical educators in multiple clinical settings through active and consistent networking
- Ability to maintain up-to-date records, attend to details and respond quickly to changes
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders, clinical partners, faculty and students
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks efficiently and effectively to meet requirements of clinical sites
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in nursing preferred, or in process of obtaining Master’s degree within 4 years
- Valid CT RN license
- Two (2) years of experience in teaching or working with nursing clinical students, or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position.
