Resident Care Associate for ALF Memory Care

Reports to: Clinical Director

Department: Nursing

Job Summary/Position Overview: The Resident Care Associate is a universal caregiver. The

services provided will include, but are not limited to, personal care, dining, laundry, and

activities.

Qualifications

 High school graduate preferred, aide certification preferred

 Related Aide-type Duties, Geriatric Experience Preferred

Work schedule: As scheduled by supervisor. Special projects, events, or assignments may

require additional scheduled hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Weekend

availability required.

Work location/conditions: 22 apartment Memory Care Assisted Living community; resident

care related duties; light lifting; routine engagement with residents, staff and visitors.

General Responsibilities

 Follow resident care plan

 Responsible for providing the direct personal assistance and supervision needed by

residents, including assisting residents when necessary on an individual basis with

bathing, dressing, eating, walking, toileting and attending to any personal needs the

residents may be incapable of or unable to attend to for themselves

 Encourage and assist residents to care for their grooming, clothing, and toilet articles,

including care of the body, hair, gums, teeth, dentures, fingernails, and personal items.

 Respond immediately in care of an accident or incident involving a resident and make a

proper report of the incident.

 Communicate with fellow staff regarding changes in resident condition or any unusual

circumstances.

 Answer resident pages in a timely manner

 Continual resident monitoring on a 24-hour basis

 Housekeeping tasks daily

 Serve meals and clean up dining room

 Resident laundry

 Miscellaneous duties as assigned by the associate's supervisor
