What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Loan Coordinator position at Gooi Mortgage, Inc.?
The loan coordinator position is the primary liaison between the assigned client(s) and the mortgage loan processor. The main goal is to streamline the operations process, minimizing extra work for the Processing Department, ensuring both efficiency and accuracy. This position can be at our downtown Des Moines, Iowa corporate office or fully remote. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Review of mortgage loan applications for accuracy and completeness
- Request documentation from borrower’s, specific to each loan transaction/investor, as instructed
- Order initial title/abstract work and updated evidence of homeowner’s insurance, if/when the information is readily available
- Order Appraisal or AVM on appropriate form as instructed
- Order Payoff Demand statements on refinance transactions as instructed
- Order Tax Return Verifications upon receipt of the fully executed 4506C
- Order Fraud Report, to include all participants in the transaction, as instructed
- Request verification of employment as instructed by Processing/Underwriting
- Communicate with the Processing department regarding all transactions in process, as necessary to ensure proper detail and closing.
- Ensure all files are consistently submitted in adherence to the standards in place for new file submissions.
Qualifications
1-3 years experience in the mortgage or banking industry
**Non-QM experience and Iowa Guaranty/Title experience preferred**
