Position Overview: The Director of Supply Chain will lead day-to-day supply chain activities for goop Kitchen restaurants, overseeing everything from sourcing and procurement to distribution across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who excels at implementing supply chain efficiencies and managing complex logistics. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Execute Supply Chain Strategy: Develop and implement end-to-end supply chain strategies, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with goop Kitchen’s growth objectives and sustainability goals.
- Forecasting and Planning: Lead forecasting efforts in partnership with suppliers and distributors, focusing on demand planning, commodity forecasting, and ensuring inventory levels are aligned with restaurant demand and seasonal trends.
- Supplier and Distributor Management: Identify, engage, and maintain relationships with best-in-class manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors. Negotiate contracts, manage vendor performance, and evaluate suppliers to ensure the highest standards for quality, cost, and sustainability.
- Contracting and Cost Management: Oversee contracting processes for sourcing materials and ingredients, including developing pricing strategies and managing COGS. Identify opportunities for cost savings through strategic supplier partnerships and process efficiencies.
- Supply Chain Efficiencies and Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and optimize supply chain processes to increase efficiency and improve overall performance. Champion the adoption of innovative technologies and sustainable practices throughout the supply chain.
- Culinary Collaboration: Work closely with the Culinary team to support the sourcing and procurement of new ingredients for menu development. Ensure that product sourcing aligns with goop Kitchen’s values, including a focus on clean ingredients, sustainability, and quality.
- Consumer Insights and Competitive Analysis: Gather and analyze insights on consumer trends, category performance, and competitors to make informed recommendations on new products, packaging, and potential supply chain improvements.
- Manage Risk and Compliance: Ensure supply chain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Identify potential risks related to supply chain disruptions, quality control, or food safety, and develop contingency plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
- 10 years of experience in supply chain with a focus in food (CPG and/or Foodservice)
- Proven success in creating and implementing supply chain strategies
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with back-of-house, such as recipe management and procurement systems (e.g., R365, Meez)
- Proficiency in Excel
