About You
You are a strong, efficient writer who can produce clear, concise, and accurate copy in a fast-paced environment. You have a deep interest in, and understanding of, fashion and design and have the ability to work collaboratively, translating the fashion team’s market notes and vision into clear, service-oriented copy that reflects the brand’s aesthetic. You are able to assess priorities, be nimble, and meet deadlines, and you are comfortable taking both initiative and direction.
About the Role
The editor will be responsible for writing fashion editorials and writing some product copy for our fashion inventory as well as our in-house fashion line, G. Label. They will also be responsible for writing select paid advertising copy. They will report to the senior editor on the content team, working closely with the buying team, the fashion team, and the marketing team.
- Write fashion editorials (as assigned, usually one per week), working closely with fashion director, fashion editors, and senior editor on concepts and ideas.
- Write select product copy, working with merch ops and buyers to ensure accuracy of copy, brand messaging, and service to reader.
- Write product copy for G. Label, working with design team and senior editor.
- Write miscellaneous events collateral, store signage and collateral, and other copy assets as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3 years of professional writing experience, preferably with an editorial fashion focus.
- Ability to concept and write engaging fashion editorial content that is both aspirational and actionable.
- Great attention to detail, strong editorial judgment, and ability to execute clean, factually correct work with integrity.
- Ability to work efficiently and proactively against tight deadlines, taking initiative to get ahead of roadblocks before they arise.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to collaborate with colleagues.
- Experience writing fashion week coverage or trend reports is a plus.
