Opportunity : Gopher Industrial is a premier industrial distribution company in the Southeast Texas region (Houston, Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange) and Southwest Louisiana. It has a web-based business that also serves all 50 states and several countries internationally. Gopher represents industrial hoses, welding equipment and consumables, safety products and solutions, and other MRO products. Our company has continued to experience growth for many years, and we are adding a new position, Regional Sales Manager, to help manage, coach, and grow our sales team.

General Summary : Manages sales of the company’s products and services for the Gulf Coast Region by LEADING and MANAGING a multi-person sales team of account managers and technical account managers. Ensures consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning, deployment, and management of sales personnel. Identifies objectives, strategies, and action plans to improve short and long-term sales growth while managing existing business and customer relationships.

Core Functions :

  • Collaborates with senior managers in establishing and recommending realistic sales goals for the company.
  • Manage the Gulf Coast Region Sales Team to maximize sales revenues and meet corporate objectives.
  • Establishes and manages effective programs to compensate, coach, appraise, and train sales personnel.
  • Performs sales activities on key accounts and supports market initiatives with senior management.
  • Manages and develops outside sales personnel (account managers, technical account managers, and business development managers).
  • Hold regular meetings with sales staff.
  • Accurately forecasts annual, quarterly, and monthly revenue streams.
  • Develop specific plans to ensure revenue growth in core product lines.
  • Provides monthly, quarterly, and annual results assessments of sales staff’s productivity to senior management.
  • Coordinates proper company resources to ensure efficient and stable sales results.
  • Formulates and develops all sales policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Develop sales strategies to improve market share in all product lines.
  • Manages and develops a training program that focuses on the sales process, product training, account management, presentations, competitive strategies, report building, and management of expenses.
  • Establishes annual budgets and plans for sales promotions, trade shows, and other marketing events, as well as managing those projects.
  • Travel as needed for training, trade shows, and business development. Currently, the general coverage area is Houston, Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange, and Lake Charles, LA. The main office is currently located in Orange, TX.

Compensation : Base Salary with bonus opportunity.

Reporting : Reports directly to the CEO.

Travel : Travel as needed between Southeast Texas (Orange - home office, Beaumont, and Port Arthur), Houston, TX area, and Southwest Louisiana as need for company meetings and site visits to customer locations while supporting the sales team. Offices are located in Orange, TX, and Deer Park, TX. Main office for Regional Sales Manager is preferred to be located in Orange, TX but Deer Park, TX could a second option, with some remote work from home. Some travel occasionally for training at manufacturer's location or industry trade shows. Our GOAL is to have you home with your family after work each day!

Required Qualifications : A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, engineering, or industrial distribution is preferred, as well as at least TEN years of related experience in industrial sales and management. Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information. Financially sound. Proven ability to motivate, develop, and lead a sales team. Experience in developing sales strategies. Excellent communication skills, plus a good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, are required. Must have a clean driving record and background.

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
