Loan Officer Duties/Responsibilities:
Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Interviews applicants to determine financial eligibility and feasibility of granting loans.
- Evaluates loan applications and documentation by conforming credit worthiness.
- Work closely with Processor to determine conditions for loan approval
- LO is responsible to collect and prepare all materials needed to secure mortgage loan by informing applicant of
additional requirements or erroneous information.
- Justifies and communicates decisions (approvals/denials) to applicants and report on them.
- Counsel’s clients on policies and restrictions.
- Maintains and keeps all records confidential.
- Keeps own NMLS licensing updated; participates in educational opportunities and supports own professional
growth.
- Develops referral networks and builds and grow own clientele database.
- Operates in compliance with laws and regulations and adheres to lending compliance guidelines.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Adhere and comply with all applicable Federal and State regulations, as well as company policies and
procedures.
- General banking knowledge.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid computer skills including Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel applications.
- Attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent time management skills and organization.
Education and Experience:
· Active NMLS License required.
· 3 to 5 years of mortgage loan origination experience required
· High school diploma or equivalent.
