We are seeking a Part-Time Staff Analyst in our Accounting team in our Mequon, WI office. This is a unique opportunity to join a talented team of professionals and support our complex and dynamic business in the achievement of our strategic plan. The position offers hands-on experience where you will develop skills that are highly desirable in pursuing employment in private accounting.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS – At a minimum, you would be responsible for:
- Assisting with monthly close activities including journal entry preparation.
- Assisting in the daily preparation and delivery of sales invoices to clients for US & Canadian-based Appraisal entities.
- Recording daily cash receipts for US & Canadian-based Appraisal entities.
- Recording accounts payable invoices from vendors and processing payments weekly.
- Collaborating to create workpapers to support external audits and the preparation of sales tax and income tax returns.
- Completing ad hoc special projects and analyses as requested to support the Accounting team.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES – The ideal candidate will have:
- The ability to self-motivate and multi-task deliverables to meet deadlines set by Management.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills.
- A good attitude, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to learn.
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications (required).
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
- A demonstrated work ethic and professional demeanor.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.
- Previous accounting and/or relevant intern/co-op experience is preferred but not required.
