Job Purpose We are seeking a [6-month North Eastern co-op student] in our Boston office. This is a unique opportunity to join a talented team of professionals and support our complex and dynamic business in the achievement of our strategic plan. Job Responsibilities You will work with Analysts and Appraisers responsible for the quantitative analysis of preparing appraisal reports and providing analytical support, including industry and company research, client on-site due diligence and management interviews, and narrative report writing. You may be exposed to a range of inventory assets including Retail, Consumer Products, Industrial, and Machinery & Equipment, and you may gain exposure to full scope inventory appraisals, industry research, and asset-based lender requirements. In this role, you will: Assist in compiling the components of appraisals, including analysis of key performance indicators such as inventory productivity, gross margin, and operating expenses Learn appraisal methodologies and utilize standard models and templates to assist Analysts and/or Appraisers with data collection, due diligence and analysis Develop a qualitative understanding of nuances that may affect asset values Actively participate in internal team meetings and select client interactions Education and Experience 3rd or 4th year student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, economics or finance preferred. Previous co-op experience is required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities The ability to self-motivate and multi-task deliverables to meet deadlines set by Management. Attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills. A good attitude, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to learn. Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications (required). Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team. A demonstrated work ethic and professional demeanor. Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Understanding of financial statements is helpful, including income statements and balance sheets. Advanced MS Excel skills are required, including pivot tables and advanced functions and formulas.  Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
