Job Qualifications
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and orderly, capable of using time efficiently and effectively.
- Able to learn and possess a sound working knowledge of GCTS programs, pertinent registration policies, and procedures.
- Must possess exceptional interpersonal abilities demonstrating a confident, warm, outgoing manner including excellent verbal communication and listening skills.
- Must be sensitive to the varied needs of a diverse student population.
- Possess the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Capable of functioning effectively within a student-centered, cooperative decision-making environment.
- Able to take initiative and problem-solve.
- Possess solid experience in the use of a computer, especially Microsoft office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Proficiency in the usage of web technologies and the ability to learn new database software.
- Ability to work 10-15 hours during regular registration hours per week during student services hours, which include Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and may include Saturday hours, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Hours agreed upon prior to the upcoming term.
- Must be a current student at GCTS and work out of either MA, NC or FL.
- Perform routine contact with students and follow-up with inactive students to identify enrollment barriers in an effort to improve retention, keeping clear records of all efforts by updating student Navigate 360 profile.
- Oversees he orientation of new students, including conducting welcome calls to new students and providing introductory training for pertinent GCTS systems, advising students regarding registration processes, and mentoring new students in areas of school/life balance, study habits, class selection, keeping clear records of all efforts by updating student Navigate 360 profile.
- Answer students' basic questions and wisely and efficiently assess the nature of the concerns and handle or make appropriate referrals as necessary.
- Assist students with questions about general academic policies using the information in the student handbook, academic calendar, and catalog.
- Serve as initial contact for the registration office: answer phone, email, and walk-in students. Answer basic registration questions and wisely and efficiently assess the nature of the concerns and handle or make appropriate referrals as necessary.
- Participate in all seminary functions related to Student Services for students (i.e., New Student Orientation, Integrative Events, Graduation, etc.).
- Provide hospitality during residencies for a given course.
- Assist in other activities as requested by the Student Success/Registration office staff.
