Licensed Insurance Sales Agent

We are a local family-owned insurance agency celebrating our 45-year anniversary this fall. We have a solid book of business and are continuing to grow each year. We have 8 full-time employees who work from our two Ann Arbor locations. We are seeking a Property and Casualty Insurance Agent to join our team! In summary, your job responsibilities will include sales and servicing existing policies.

Responsibilities:

• Present and sell company products and services to new and existing customers
• Prospect and contact potential customers (no cold-calling)
• Resolve customer inquiries and complaints
• Set follow-up appointments to keep customers aware of latest developments
• Create sales material to present to customers

​Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• Existing valid license in Michigan Property & Casualty (Resident Producer)
• 1 years experience in insurance sales and customer service
• Familiarity with Outlook, Word
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent typing skills
• Ability to build rapport with clients and recommend coverage that will first and foremost protect the client and their assets
• Detail-oriented, open to learning, receptive to instruction/feedback, adaptable to change, ability to work in a team environment
• Personal drive to meet goals

Additional Qualifications:

• Associates and College Degree
• Familiarity with Excel
• Ability to see the bigger picture, demonstrate creative-problem solving
• Personal drive to exceed expectations
• Existing valid license in Michigan Life & Health

Performance and Expectations:

• 90-day review to review performance and determine whether a hourly rate increase is merited
• Progress toward reaching agreed upon sales targets
• Progress throughout initial training period
• Positive attitude
• Fast assimilation into a team environment

*Hourly rate will be based on experience and performance
