Job Description:
***Our Baton Rouge office is seeking an Accounting Assistant who will be responsible for processing settlements and deposits for Worker’s Compensation and Personal Injury cases***
Job Responsibilities:
- Verify expenses in case management system vs general ledger
- Calculate in-house interest & add to the matters
- Request client loan payoffs
- Scan deposits / settlement memos and rename scanned docs daily
- Generate weekly spreadsheet for all proceeds
- Serves as backup to other drafters & associates in the settlements dept
Requirements:
- 1 year of experience in accounting required
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting a plus
- Experience in an accounting department with high volume could be used in place of a degree
- Experience doing reconciliations & data entry for an accounting department
- Experience working with deposits
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Capable of meeting deadlines on a daily basis
- Must be highly detail oriented for data entry responsibilities
- Must be organized and able to stay focused on tasks
- Ability to multi-task & prioritize duties frequently
