How you will make an impact?
The Litigation Paralegal assists the attorney in all aspects of case management, from case inception to settlement or trial. The incumbent will assist attorney(s) by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, and fact checking; and trial preparation. It is expressly understood and practiced that all duties associated with this position are performed under the direct supervision of his or her assigned attorney(s) and immediate supervisor.
What will you do?
- Prepare petitions, trial documents; answer discovery both in state and federal court.
- Gather and analyze intake information, as well as relevant documents associated with new files into case management software.
- Initiate claims, verify coverage and maintain communication with insurance adjusters to provide case status updates.
- Collect documentation of all damages sustained such as medical records, bills and loss of wages.
- Update case details on a regular basis by utilizing case management software.
- Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
- Assists in drafting legal documents including routine pleadings & motions, affidavits, & interrogatories; files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.
Requirements
Certifications:
- Paralegal Certification is a plus
Preferred Education and Experience:
- two years or more of paralegal experience
- two years or more of litigation experience
