Job Description: Perform an equipment installation, or service repair of water conditioning and reverse osmosis drinking water systems. The majority of job sites are residential. A Technician must establish trust, and rapport with the customer while working in their home. The equipment must be installed with the predetermined parameters set in place by the manufacturer or the equipment, and by Gordon Water Systems.
Responsibilities/Duties: including, but not limited to:
- Regular maintenance on the assigned Service truck
- Ensure that proper tools, supplies, parts, and equipment are on the service truck leaving Gordon Water Systems.
- Maintain a fully stocked inventory on the truck
- Follow the predetermined process established by Gordon Water Systems
- Completing a job cost-effectively
A typical day as a Service Technician will begin at our office. We have 4 Service Technicians in Kalamazoo, and surrounding areas, and 4 Service Technicians serving the Greater Grand Rapids area. You have access to over 40 years of combined experience between the Service Technicians, Water Specialists and Managers. There is a Team dynamic among your colleagues that creates a fun supportive atmosphere for you to excel. We foster a culture of resourcefulness, and ongoing skill enhancement, and exceeding our customers’ expectations.
- Technical, Mechanical work (approx. 70% of the time)
- Interacting with Customers (approx. 5% of the time)
- Driving to job sites (approx. 10% of the time)
- Completing paperwork (approx. 2% of the time)
Job Requirements
To be successful in this role, you need to have a certain amount of knowledge:
High school graduate or equivalent certificate amount of knowledge
- Problem solving skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Able to lift more than 60lbs
- Able to work alone
- Have a neat physical appearance
- Clean driving record
Critical to doing this work is how you go about it. We need Technicians that are detail focused and problem solvers. A positive mindset, and team oriented are key components to being successful at Gordon Water Systems.
