Position Summary
The Sanitation Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the sanitation operations within our facility. This role ensures that all equipment, production areas, and facilities are clean, safe, and in compliance with health regulations. The Sanitation Manager works closely with the production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and Lead Team: Manage the sanitation team, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation. Ensure that all team members adhere to safety and sanitation protocols.
- Implement Sanitation Procedures: Develop, implement, and maintain sanitation procedures and schedules for all production and non-production areas. Ensure cleaning procedures meet company and regulatory standards. Ensure Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures are being executed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, inspections, and corrective actions. Conduct regular sanitation assessments of process equipment and environmental areas, and keep comprehensive documentation.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. Ensure proper usage and storage of cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in sanitation processes. Implement changes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and safety.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to address sanitation-related issues and support overall operational goals.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for sanitation staff. Ensure team members are knowledgeable about sanitation techniques and safety protocols.
- Provide back-up weekend sanitation coverage as needed. This may include staffing, pre-operational inspections, sanitation effectiveness monitoring, and related documentation.
- Bachelor’s in Business or Science or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of experience in sanitation in food manufacturing
- Highly motivated self-starter with solid PC skills
- Strong leadership/problem solving skills
- Strong organizational and well-developed communication skills
