Summary
Responsible for directing, administering and controlling the day-to-day operations of the hospital’s Radiation Oncology Program and women’s retreat, within the guidelines of established hospital policies. Responsible for working in tandem with the Director of Nursing, Cancer Services, in implementing growth strategy under the direction of the Assistant Vice President and Medical Director.
Leads colleagues in providing the highest quality of health services for our patients and their families. Is directly responsible for care execution and policy management in technical areas, including radiation oncology and imaging. Ensures efficient and economical performance in accordance with the Center’s operating budget, through the development and management of appropriate controls, policies and procedures. Responsible for the cancer service line consistent utilization of TUL, and responsible for tracking and monitoring related to performance improvement activity at both the Retreat and Cancer Center. Develops, recommends, implements and maintains established hospital practices, procedures and objectives within areas of responsibility.
Maintains effective communications with hospital administration, medical staff, the community and all colleagues within the Center and hospital. Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and requirements. Prepares activities and verifies adherence to policies related to accreditation events for the cancer program as well as those related to hospital accreditation. Collaborates with leadership throughout health system in multi-departmental efforts.
Has direct responsibility for management of Retreat finances and budget, as well as radiation oncology finances budget. Oversight and annual evaluations of the program’s technical support, technical and radiation therapy colleagues.
Maintains collegial and supportive relationship with the Center’s staff Physicians and all other Physicians and hospital colleagues.
Represents the Center for Cancer Care and Goshen Health Hospital in the community and at various venues, meetings and conferences. May stand in for the Assistant Vice President, Cancer Care and Surgical Services.
Position Qualifications
Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing or related clinical area.
Preferred Education Master’s Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration
Minimum Experience Must have 5 years of managerial experience at the department level or higher. Knowledge and experience in the use of spreadsheet software is essential. Working knowledge of CMS and medical reimbursement.
Preferred Experience 5 or more years of managerial experience in a Cancer program
