What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Technical Coordinator - Histology position at Goshen Health?
Leads assigned laboratory section and maintains quality and competency for patients, providers, and staff. Performs advanced troubleshooting and special procedures, trains colleagues and students as assigned. Acts as technical specialist and meets criteria as laboratory technical consultant for their assigned section as defined by CAP and CLIA for moderately complex or as a general supervisor in highly complex sections.
Position Qualifications
Minimum Education: Bachelors degree or associates degree in medical technology, or bachelors degree in a chemical, physical or a biological science and completion of MLS/MLT or section certification by an appropriate accrediting agency, i.e., ASCP, NCA or the equivalent. For sections that oversee moderately complex testing a bachelor’s degree is required.
Minimum Experience: A minimum of two years experience working as a technician/technologist in assigned area.
