Goshen Hospital's Patient Care Extern program is a ten week summer schedule designed to be an extension of a nursing student's formal education.

A Registered Nurse preceptor oversees the nursing student and provides professional clinical guidance during the program.

The program will run from June 2nd - August 9th .

Eligibility Requirements

  • Student must currently be enrolled in good standing in an accredited nursing program.
  • Successful completion of third year of nursing school.
  • Able to work 36-40 hours a week for the summer.
  • Be CPR certified.
  • Must complete Patient Care Externship packet. Email jrisemas@goshenhealth.com for the packet. Due date is January 31st.
