Responsibilities & Duties
The Dining Room Lead Facilitator oversees the team, ensuring that service is excellent, meals are served, and the team is trained.
Dining Room/Event Serving
- Warmly greet all guests, including, but not limited to, visitors, volunteers, vendors, employees, guests, donors; homeless men, women, and children; community groups, church groups, and public officials
- Establish and build healthy Christ-honoring relationships with guests while maintaining professional boundaries, including guest confidentiality
- Maintain an environment of love, grace, dignity and respect
- Works with the Food Service Manager to train, lead, and assign tasks to the Dining Room Facilitators, Guests, and Volunteers, holding everyone accountable for meeting mission, quality, safety, and other performance standards.
- Monitors the dining room operation and the guests and volunteers' performance.
- Works with the Food Service Manager to prepare schedules for Dining Room Facilitators, Guests, and Volunteers, ensuring adequate staffing and appropriate distribution of assignments.
- Monitors and reports inventory needs of dining room supplies to the Food Service Manager, ensuring that associates exercise appropriate cost controls; communicates needs for ordering and/or maintaining inventory.
- Monitors dining room to ensure the area is clean and in proper condition; notifies management of needed repairs and/or replacements and possible safety hazards.
- Monitors available seating and directs guests to appropriate tables to ensure efficient distribution for the best possible service.
- Communicate with kitchen employees to ensure appropriate food, beverage, and eating and drinking utensils are always available.
- Oversees and assists with dining-related programs such as special events, private parties, meal delivery, and guest dining
- Assists the Food Service Manager in maintaining appropriate department records such as reports, files, time records, and schedules
- Oversees and communicates equipment, materials, supplies, utensils, etc. for inventory, placing out for use, cleanliness, etc.
- Oversee cleaning and report any maintenance of the dining room as per health department codes
- Set up for events and with post-event clean up, inventory, food storage, tear down, and cleaning
- Assist with dining preparation and serving
Other
- Oversee volunteer server time and attendance records
- Complete reports as needed, including daily meal counts
- Assure health department standards are being followed
- Report any safety hazards to the maintenance department
- Manage employees’ web-based time and attendance records
- Attend staff devotions, community meetings, and staff meetings as directed by the Food Service Manager
- Attend professional training and networking opportunities as directed
- Provide weekly reports as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned

Employment Status:
- Full-time 40 hours per week; nonexempt; eligible for benefits; eligible for paid time off
