What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety & Security position at Gospel Rescue Mission Inc?
Responsible for consistently screening, monitoring, and inspecting the premises to deter theft, violence, or violations of the standards set by Gospel Rescue Mission (GRM). This role involves diligently observing individuals on campus to prevent vandalism, unauthorized entry, and the presence or use of intoxicants, drugs, or other prohibited items. The Safety and Security team is committed to fostering an environment of dignity and respect for all we serve, while ensuring that practices are applied fairly and consistently.
- Establish and build healthy Christ-honoring relationships with guests, while maintaining professional boundaries including guest confidentiality
- Warmly greet all guests, including, but not limited to, visitors, volunteers, vendors, staff, donors; community groups, church groups and public officials
- Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the data with which you work and for keeping data secure and accessible only to those who have rights to this information. Safety and Security members routinely have access to highly sensitive information that could be considered unusual or of interest to other individuals both inside and outside of GRM. Because of the sensitive nature of information that is accessible to personnel, all must meet the highest standards possible for managing the information in a secure and professional manner
- Make periodic physical rounds around the interior and perimeter of the Center of Opportunity or Women’s Recovery Center
- As needed, confiscate contraband and secure in assigned controlled areas
- Log any events or observations and provide to the incoming Safety and Security Team member
- Warn or remove unauthorized individuals from campus
- Notify the proper authorities when those individuals violate the GRM Safety and Security policy
- Monitor traffic in and out of property
- Assist in any internal or external investigations
- Respond to emergencies and provide assistance as needed
- Provide information to leadership and co-workers
- Prepare incident reports and investigation summaries
- Maintain good communication with team members, and maintain a positive and professional work environment
- Contribute to a team effort and accomplish related tasks as required
- Acquire a thorough knowledge of GRM, local, state, and federal safety regulations and laws
- Routinely conduct video surveillance of the Center of Opportunity and Women’s Recovery Center
- Ensure all photo/video surveillance equipment is functioning properly
- Obtain video documentation of suspicious activity
- Monitor all alarm and photo/video surveillance equipment
- Monitor and record incidents caught by photo/video surveillance
- Attend professional training and networking opportunities as directed
- Attend staff meetings or other meetings as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Employment Status:
- Full-time 40 hours per week nonexempt; eligible for paid time off; eligible for benefits
- Should anticipate a flexible schedule.
