What are the responsibilities and job description for the Workforce Development Manager position at Gospel Rescue Mission Inc?
- Warmly greet all guests, including, but not limited to, visitors, volunteers, vendors, staff, guests, donors; community groups, church groups, and public officials
- Establish and build healthy Christ-honoring relationships with guests, while maintaining the Code of Ethics and must still be capable of responding in professional, ethical ways, including cultural responsiveness and trauma-informed best practices
- In collaboration with the Workforce Development Director and Senior Program Director, actively participate and maintain the Standard of Excellence
- In collaboration with the Workforce Development Director and Senior Program Director, access, standardize, and develop an effective workforce development program
- In collaboration with Workforce Development Director and Senior Program Director, assess and develop curriculum as needed
- In collaboration with the Workforce Development Director and Senior Program Director in making recommendations to develop and monitor the budget
- Orient, manage and support Workforce Development guests, employees, and volunteers with the Workforce Development processes and standard
- Identify, develop, and sustain relationships with community partners and other workforce development collaborative partnerships
- Liaison and point of contact between GRM and Job Training Center partnerships
- Maintain thorough and complete guest records
- Oversee and monitor Workforce Development Advocates’ progression with the guests
- Identify barriers that might hinder employability, and assist the Workforce Develop Team in identifying services, supports, or referrals to community resources
- Regularly meet with the Workforce Development Team to communicate information, and review benchmarks of the strategic plan
- Assess eligibility and assist guests with enrolling in Job Training, Employment Search, or Education services upon entrance into the program and develop an individualized plan for each guest
- Teach basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, typing, basic internet skills, and use of other programs as appropriate
- Collaborate with internal or external agencies to develop employment preparation skills and job search plans
- Monitor the safe use of GRM equipment in the areas of Workforce Development
- Provide conflict resolution, de-escalation techniques, and crisis intervention as needed
- Share On-call Manager responsibilities as directed

- Provide leadership and supervisory support to the Workforce Development Department and all GRM teams.
- Manage, address, and coach team situations and responsibilities in collaboration with the Senior Program Director and the Human Resources Manager.
- Uphold policy (including vision, mission, and values), applying sound ethical judgment regarding behavior, conduct, and GRM practices; and escalate management and report issues with transparency and accountability.
- In collaboration with Human Resources and the Senior Program Director, participate in interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, recognizing, disciplining, and terminating direct reports as necessary.
- Assist the Senior Program Director and Executive Team in resolving all complaints from guests, staff, volunteers, and partner/outside agencies or entities.
- Attend professional training and networking opportunities as directed.
- Manage employees’ web-based time and attendance records.
- Support and attend GRM team meetings.
- Provide weekly reports as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
