Gotham Companies is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up operative areas, disinfecting areas, removing sharps from instruments, washing and sterilizing instruments, and arranging patient records for treatment. The Dental Assistant will work closely with the Dentist or Hygienist to ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience.
Responsibilities:
- Set up for the patient, including logging in patient name, pulling charts, and making notes under the direction of the attending doctor.
- Seat and drape patients, fix headrests, prepare trays and instruments, and ensure chart information is current and complete.
- Dismiss patients by providing appointment cards for the next visit, collecting charts for billing, and ensuring chart completeness.
- Clean instruments by washing and sterilizing them, maintaining equipment, and keeping the dental laboratory orderly.
- Maintain inventory, keep the area neat and organized, and sterilize instruments and equipment.
- Develop radiographs, mount and date them, identify them, and place them in patient charts.
- Clean and maintain the darkroom and developing machine on an assigned basis.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Familiarity with dental care needs and procedures for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Basic ability to utilize electronic record systems, equipment, and healthcare/billing systems.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an approved/accredited Dental Assistant program.
Experience:
- Dental Assistant and inventory control experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certificate from a Dental Assistant program.
- CRCST Certification (required)
