Title: Sr Azure Engineer
Duration: FTE/Permanent
Location: Hybrid in NYC
Salary: 140-160k DOE
Our direct client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Azure Engineer with expertise in Azure infrastructure management, enterprise-level design, automation, and governance. This individual will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing Azure-based solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will also act as an escalation point for operational issues and service outages.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy automation solutions using Azure services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and define requirements.
- Establish and manage Azure governance, security, compliance, and networking configurations.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Design and manage role-based access control (RBAC) and identity management solutions.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate security and compliance risks.
- Optimize Azure infrastructure for performance, cost efficiency, and high availability.
- Stay updated with the latest Azure and Office 365 technologies and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience designing scalable, resilient, and highly available Azure solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Azure governance tools such as Azure Policies, Conditional Access, and Monitor/Log Analytics.
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Bicep, ARM, Terraform, and PowerShell.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
- Expertise in Azure networking (Subnetting, Route Tables, Security Groups, vNet Peering, Virtual Network Gateways, and optimizing for egress costs).
- Solid understanding of Azure security and identity management (RBAC, Identity Governance, NSGs).
