This critical role involves maintaining system stability, supporting technology transitions, and ensuring robust infrastructure performance. You'll play a key role in upcoming upgrades, storage integration, and disaster recovery efforts, working alongside a seasoned infrastructure team.Responsibilities : VMware Environment Management : Manage and support multiple VMware environments, including a dedicated environment for Meditech (150 VMs) and a core environment (1,400 VMs).Lead and support the migration from VMware 7.x to 8.x with minimal downtime.Maintain and troubleshoot vCenter environments across production and disaster recovery (DR) sites.Oversee Cisco B-series chassis servers to ensure optimal performance and reliability.Prepare for the eventual transition to Cisco X-series equipment as the B-series approaches end-of-life.Manage a fully chassis-based server environment, providing expertise in this setup.Storage Solutions Management : Administer storage solutions, including Pure Storage, HPE Nimble, and IBM SVC.Support decommissioning of legacy storage systems and integration of new solutions (NetApp or Pure Storage).Assist in the upgrade of fabric interconnects and MDS switches in production and DR environments.Host Management : Manage 26 production hosts, focusing on time-efficient operations rather than technical complexity.Provide critical support to ease workload pressure on the existing infrastructure lead.Disaster Recovery & Backup : Ensure production and DR environments are fully replicated and ready for failover scenarios.Manage and maintain Rubrik backups to protect system data and enable quick recovery.Qualifications : Extensive hands-on experience with VMware in large-scale environments, including version migrations (7.x to 8.x).Strong expertise with Cisco B-series chassis servers ; familiarity with Cisco X-series is a plus.Deep understanding of chassis-based server environments (non-rack-mounted setups).Proven ability to manage multiple hosts efficiently with excellent time management.Expertise in storage management (Pure Storage, IBM SVC, HPE Nimble).Experience with disaster recovery strategies and Rubrik backups .Healthcare IT experience and familiarity with EMR systems like Meditech are highly desirable.Why Join Us : Work on impactful technology upgrades and storage transitions.Contribute to a mission-critical infrastructure environment supporting essential business operations.Join a collaborative team with the opportunity for professional growth.Ready to elevate your expertise in VMware and storage management?
