RN, Acute Care (Full-Time Dayshift)
Position Summary
A registered Professional Nurse is responsible for identifying patient needs and prioritizing care through assessment, planning, and appropriately delegating care. When care is not provided directly by the Registered Nurse, the RN assigns/delegates care to other qualified members of the healthcare team.
Accountabilities
- Conduct and document assessment of patient medical status upon admission and throughout course of treatment
- Maintain quality of care for patients of Gothenburg Health
- Assist in development and implementation of individualized treatment plans
- Provide emergency and outpatient care including accompanying a patient to another facility
- Assess continuing education opportunities appropriate to discipline and responsibilities in order to maintain clinical currency
- Perform bedside reports on patients at shift change; this includes any handoff of patient care
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Nebraska
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications within 6 months of hire
- ALSO and TNCC training within 6 months of hire
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
Physical Demands
- General office demands such as sitting, computer use requiring manual dexterity, walking about, bending, and stooping
- Occasional lifting of 50lbs including assisting transfer of patients
- Frequent lifting and carrying objects weighing 25 pounds
- Ability to proofread, check documents for accuracy, and enter or transform words or data using a keyboard
- Ability to work with hands in cleaning and sterilizing solutions when necessary

- Acute and emergent patient care environments
- Exposure to blood borne pathogens
- Exposure and handling of some sharp instrumentation
