The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and supplies necessary for landscaping projects. This role involves negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of quality products.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To
- Procurement: Source and purchase materials, plants, equipment, and supplies needed for landscape projects.
- Supplier Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and ensure optimal inventory to meet project needs.
- Quality Control: Ensure all purchased products meet quality standards and specifications required for landscaping projects.
- Order Management: Process purchase orders, track orders, and ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites.
- Budget Management: Track and manage procurement budgets, ensure cost-effectiveness, and seek opportunities for cost savings.
- Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, new products, and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other team members to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier agreements, and inventory levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or supply chain management is preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a procurement/purchasing related role
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
- Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
- Above average attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and purchasing software
- Pay Rate: $28-$32/Hour DOE
