Job Summary

The Media Planning & Strategy Manager reports to the Sr. Director, Media Planning & Strategy on the Category Marketing team supporting a group of our Brands. This role will support omni-channel media strategy, planning, buying and measurement initiatives across the organization to deliver both measurable revenue and brand equity.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and author the overarching media strategy and approach for the Brands assigned across all paid media disciplines in partnership with Media Agency—Including but not limited to: Paid Search, Programmatic Display, Paid Social, Digital Audio, Digital & OTT Video, Outdoor, and various local media vehicles
  • Work as part of the Category Marketing teams to support each Brand’s unique needs by delivering the evaluation, recommendation, and creation of all performance-based media plans
  • Work with Insights & Analytics team, Digital analytics team & agency to ensure comprehensive and consistent strategic media landscape insights, omni-channel performance reporting and ROAS, forecasting, and test/learn actionable results
  • Drive best practices and test and learn agenda across Brands to increase performance, ROI and brand equity impact
  • Collaborate with Digital, CRM/Loyalty, Analytics and Category Marketing teams to ensure integrated media solutions including leveraging CRM databases, tracking digital traffic & conversion value, integrating with entire marketing mix ,etc.
  • Collaborate with the PR and Organic Social teams to ensure best practices and process in paid social media, maintain all paid social media platforms ad accounts and provide provisioning and education as needed
  • Work with in-house Creative team to ensure all creative assets are trafficked appropriately, provide advise and recommendations on paid media creative best practices
  • Support the internal Media Engine integrated planning approaches by managing cross-functional coordination and creating stakeholder communications for key priorities and roadmap projects
  • Creates and maintains paid media education and inspiration for the benefit of the key internal stakeholders, provides ongoing counsel cross-functionally across the organization
  • Manages external paid media vendor relationships, striving for best-in-class media solutions come to bear. Support enterprise-level agreements within the organization.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing and communications

Work Experience

  • 5-7 years of integrated media planning and/or digital media buying experience
  • Experience developing successful paid media campaigns and programs
  • Expert knowledge of media fundamentals and an ability to educate
  • Experience with data, analytics, and measurement
  • Proven track record in digital and traditional media driving measurable results
  • Successful usage of marketing technology and tools (Ad Servers, 1PD onboarders, Location attribution measurement partners, Data Management Platforms or Customer Data Platforms, etc.)
  • Equal parts strategic and activation-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to work across functional and geographic boundaries
  • Experience working within a matrixed project teams

Skills

  • Strong communication (including written and presentations), active listening, relationship building, and negotiations skills required
  • Strong project management skills – ability to successfully multi-task and prioritize job requirements while remaining organized and detail-oriented with excellent follow-up abilities
  • Ability to work well under pressure in meeting deadlines in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive business relationships (e.g., management, stakeholders, other departments, etc.) and foster an environment of mutual respect, understanding, trust, and support
  • Ability to anticipate and respond to the needs of stakeholders (e.g., internal and external customers, etc.) in a timely manner
  • Ability to adapt and adjust planned work through analyzing work demands, competing priorities, and tight deadlines; and to understand the most effective and efficient means to accomplish tasks within the parameters of the organizational structure, processes, systems, and policies
  • Positive, flexible, and self-motivated attitude
