GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB DUTIES
This position is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the full range of employee benefits programs. These programs include retirement plans, leave policies, and wellness programs. This position is also responsible for the administration of core benefit plans such as health, life, and disability. Incumbent leads annual renewal, open enrollment coordination of ongoing employee benefit communications, and recognition opportunities. This position provides key recommendations and information to the Director of HR and the Chief People and Diversity Officer from which informed management decisions will be made with the objective of creating a positive workplace experience for new hires, current leaders and employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates as a business partner with the HR Director in long-term planning of employee benefits, recognitions and rewards.
- Provide oversight and management of all Benefits related activities to include managing partnerships with benefit vendors, insurance brokers and retirement specialists.
- Administer employee benefits programs to include retirement plans, leave policies, wellness programs, and insurance policies such as health, life, and disability.
- Serve as primary HR Partner for Transit Operations in providing consultation to management on HR related issues.
- Partner with managers and supervisors to implement recognitions and rewards (i.e. anniversary service awards, peer recognitions, etc.) in a timely and meaningful way ensuring employees feel valued and appreciated.
- Stay abreast of regulations and market trends to ensure programs are current, competitive, and compliant. Develop and recommend improvements to ensure long-term sustainability.
- Prepare and adhere to program budget(s) to ensure long-term sustainability and cost-effectiveness of benefits administered.
- Serve as Agency Drug and Alcohol Monitor and oversees the administration of the program.
- Plan and engage employees in wellness activities, all employee campaigns and special events.
- Perform OSHA, Workers Comp, and BLS annual administration and reporting.
- Provides HRIS system administration. Actively maintains data in the HRIS system by entering pay and status changes, providing reports, ensuring accuracy of administrative rights, and supporting employee users.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the above stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.
Working Conditions :
Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting operating facilities, during which the incumbent should observe all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and use all protective clothing and devices provided.
Physical Requirements :
Sedentary Work : Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
