Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing corporate safety programs and objectives, coordinating safety training initiatives, and ensuring compliance with federal and state safety regulations. This role provides technical support to plant and corporate personnel to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical safety and health support to production and corporate teams.
- Develop and maintain written safety programs, policies, and Job Hazard Analysis documents.
- Identify employee training needs, coordinate, and develop effective safety training programs.
- Participate in product and process reviews, including hazard analyses and operator training.
- Support management in implementing production controls to minimize safety hazards.
- Advise on the selection and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain and update the company’s training library, including videos, manuals, and regulations.
- Promote safety awareness through training programs, communications, and safety teams.
- Manage the SDS and GHS labeling system.
- Monitor and advise on compliance with federal and state occupational safety regulations.
- Audit practices, records, and processes to ensure compliance with safety programs and regulations.
- Track and monitor lost-time injuries, illnesses, and worker’s compensation claims.
- Review and follow up on safety inspection reports, incident investigations, and meeting minutes.
- Facilitate learning via classroom instruction, virtual training, and on-the-job coaching.
- Evaluate training materials, track outcomes, and provide feedback to participants and management.
- Collaborate with HR to review and update job descriptions as needed.
- Perform additional projects and tasks as assigned.

Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office setting with regular exposure to plant conditions. The noise level in the plant can be elevated.

Position Details
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or at least 2 years of experience in Human Resources, Safety, or Training.
- Certifications: Occupational Safety Certificate preferred.
- Bilingual a Must!

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
