Job Description:
The Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions and Partnerships works to identify, recruit, enroll, and onboard transfer students in accordance with the college’s enrollment goals. Additionally, they are responsible for the development and nurturing of partnerships with community colleges in Maryland and other states.
Essential Job Functions:
20 % A. Manage a recruitment territory by representing the college to prospective transfer students, family members, community college transfer coordinators, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college search process. Plan and implement recruitment activities for assigned community colleges and community-based organizations in the form of community college visits, college fairs, and speaking engagements.
20 % B. Application Review and Counseling
Review applications and make admission decisions based on established criteria; participate on the Admissions Committee to recruit a well-prepared class of a desired size; provide personalized counseling to prospective students and their families regarding the admissions process, academic programs, financial aid, and campus life, and answer inquiries about admissions requirements and application deadlines.
20 % C. Recruitment/Outreach and Relationship Building
Counsel prospective students and other individuals from inquiry through matriculation through in-person conversations, virtual events, phone, web-based platforms, email, and texts; participate in on-campus and virtual admissions events; manage a recruitment territory consisting of visits to high schools and community colleges to conduct presentations and meet with prospective students, attend college fairs and other recruitment events, and build relationships with community college transfer advisors, high school college counselors, community-based organizations, and other college-going influencers; collaborate with other campus departments, including financial aid, academic advising, and student affairs, and engage with alumni and community partners to identify potential applicants.
10 % D. Campus Visits and Information Sessions
Host information sessions to highlight academic programs, student organizations, and campus culture; plan, implement, and support campus visit programs for prospective students and their families.
10 % E. Develop partnerships and articulation agreements with Maryland community colleges.
10 % F. Facilitate the successful onboarding of transfer students post the receipt of the enrollment deposit by coordinating a communication strategy, assisting with course selection, and ensuring transfer students are completing New Student Onboarding Activities
5 % G. Data Management and Reporting
Maintain accurate records of student interactions and application data within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, SLATE; track recruitment progress, and generate reports on key metrics.
3 % H. In conjunction with the Office of the Registrar, maintain Goucher’s data in ARTSYS.
Non-Essential Functions:
2% A. Engage in professional development opportunities, stay informed on current trends in education, coordinate event planning, and contribute to graduate admissions recruitment efforts.
This position requires the employee to operate a motor vehicle to perform essential job functions.
This position requires the employee to work weekends or evenings.
Education:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred: Master’s Degree
Professional Experience:
Required: Progressive professional experience working with vertical and lateral transfer student populations in a student-facing role at a two-year or four-year institution of higher education.
Preferred: Experience coordinating articulation agreements and advising new students.
Computer Skills: Experience with a Customer Relations Management (CRM) system (Slate preferred), Microsoft Office, and the ability to quickly learn new programs. Previous experience with ARTSYS, DegreeWorks, and Navigate preferred.
Pay Range - $56,449.00-$60,000.00
