Job Overview:
Gourmet Foods International is a specialty Food Distributor and additionally offers 3PL services under the branch Cold Locker. The Forklift Operator is someone responsible for handling products utilizing powered industrial machines safely and accurately. Prospective team members ensure orders are either stocked or pulled using standup or sit-down electric forklifts, scanning guns, and written forms. The position can also require physical product placement or picking-related tasks within a chilled environment.
Environment:
• Multi-temperature environment ranging from -10 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit.

Equipment:
• RF scan gun
• PPE – Slip-resistant, steel-toe boots, freezer jackets and pants, warming caps
• Stand up and sit down electric forklifts and reach trucks.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Unload or load over-the-road trucks and ocean containers using machinery or in exception circumstances by hand
• Receiving and shipping of palletized products into and out of a rack system
• Case picking of orders with an emphasis on accuracy
• Build, wrap, sort, and transport pallets and packages
• Picking and packing of orders
Things you need to be able to do:
• Excellent communication skills, ability to follow directions and meet deadlines and be able to work under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Carry up to 50 lbs. Push/Pull up to 30 lbs of force
• Must be able to be exposed to multi-temperature environments ranging from -10 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit
• Ascend and descend a step with a height of 10 in from the floor
• Able to stand for long periods
• Able to reach and bend without limitations
Things that are a plus but not a deal-breaker:
• Previous warehouse and/or cold storage experience
• RF handheld device experience
