What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator position at Gourmet Foods International?
Job Overview
Youll be part of the dedicated warehouse team delivering delicious specialty foods items to our customers. Our fast-paced, physical roles receive trucks full of orders, then prepare them for delivery. Youll load conveyor belts, and transport and stage deliveries to be picked up by drivers.
What does your day look like? Some of your duties may include:
Unload, receive and place incoming inventory items away.
Operate an RF handheld device to scan, pull and pack items to fulfill orders.
View prompts on screens and follow direction for some tasks.
Build, wrap, sort, and transport pallets and packages.
Things you need to be able to do:
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Carry up to 50 lbs. Push/Pull up to 30 lbs. of force.
Must be able to be exposed to a refrigerated and freezer environment, ranging from 0 - 36 degrees Fahrenheit.
Ascend and descend a step with a height of 10 in. From the floor.
Excellent communication skills, ability to follow directions and meet deadlines and be able to work under minimal supervision.
Able to stand for long periods of time.
Able to reach bend.
Things that are a plus but not a deal-breaker:
Previous warehouse and/or cold storage experience
RF handheld device experience
Pallet jack experience preferred and or stand-up forklift certification
