About the Position
">We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Assistant Utilities Director. This position is responsible for overseeing the Utilities Department's water and wastewater infrastructure, including planning, directing, coordinating, evaluating, and maintaining departmental operations.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil or environmental engineering, with experience in designing and constructing water treatment, water distribution, wastewater treatment, reclaimed water treatment, wastewater collection, or other public utility projects. They should also have supervisory experience and a valid State of Florida Class E driver's license.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, coordinate, evaluate, and maintain departmental operations.
- Develop and implement department policies, procedures, and programs.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Manage personnel and divisions.
- Provide engineering and project management support.
- Review employee performance evaluations.
- Assist with grievances and discipline.
- Prepare, implement, and manage operational and capital improvement budgets.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a closely related field.
- Five to seven years of professional or administrative experience in municipal utilities systems.
- Three to five years of supervisory experience.
- Valid State of Florida Class E driver's license.
