Position Overview
A Physician at the Caro Psychiatric Hospital assesses and manages conditions/illnesses of assigned patients. The position provides medical care and treatment, including physical examinations, assessments of injuries/illnesses, preventive health measures, adverse drug reactions, and drug interactions. The Physician also provides minor first aid to staff and has unsupervised access to controlled substances.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct healthcare services to persons in the care of custody of the state
- Consult with other healthcare professionals and support staff on medical review cases
- Train healthcare professionals and support staff on medical review cases
Requirements
- M.D. from an accredited school of medicine
- Three years of post-M.D. full licensure experience in medicine or osteopathic medicine and surgery
- Michigan licensure to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine and surgery
